I tried to get shots of Comet McNaught the other night and had no luck.
Sunset over Atlanta.
The idiot's comet.
The comet was supposed to be brighter than Venus. But I found venus, and still no comet.
Skyline.
The only half-decent shot I got.

Ugh, I tried finding it the other night, too, with no luck.
I was totally bummed. They showed all these amazing photos of it on the weather channel that morning, and I got all excited. And all I saw were some airplanes.
Dude! I saw the whole Weather Channel bit, too! They like to taunt you: "Oooh, look, a comet! One fist's width above the horizon and slightly to the right of the sunset!" Jerks.
Also? Is it sad that we both watch the Weather Channel enough that we saw the same segment?
PS. I just discovered I can post comments when I'm logged into the wrong email account and using Firefox. That explains why sometimes I show up as "melissa" and sometimes as "The Rock Lobster." I know you were wondering, right?
I blame the weather channel thing on my mom, whose tv is tuned to the current radar, I'm guessing, 80% of the time. She has even requested that if I were ever to run in to Jim Cantore, seeing as they are located in Atlanta, to please pass along her number.
That, and the fact I never like to be caught unawares and unprepared without my umbrella.
Speaking of the weather channel, do you ever notice how they are not much different than regular news in how they make it sound overly dramatic? "WINTER STORM 2007! Are you prepared for its wrath?!? Take cover, there might just be thunder snow in YOUR area!"
I was wondering why you were posting under two names. I can sleep now. :)
Ooh! And their use of puns in referring to a day's forcast! They had some good ones lately, but the only one I can think of at the moment was, "Icy and Dicy." Heeee.
Today was "Going Coastal" and it made me chuckle.
Heh heh, I saw that one, too.
I caught another one today - "Gray Anatomy"
Dear Lord...
